About The Instructor

Meisie is a Xhosa born in Swellendam of Xhosa parents. She married a farm worker and moved onto the farm with him. Here she did housekeeping for the farmer’s wife until her husband, whom she describes as a “typical Tswana man” took another wife. Not prepared to accept this, Meisie moved back to Swellendam (Railton) where she has remained ever since. This charming lady is not one for self pity so she got a job in housekeeping for a guest house. It was not long before she was promoted to Reception. Finding a desire amongst guests to see Township living, Meisie started taking tours into the townships. With the success of this Meisie qualified as a Site Guide in 2009 and was sent to the Tourism Indaba in Durban to represent Swellendam. She now runs her own touring business. This is a course you don’t want to miss !
